{a peek inside my refrigerator}

{photography by Ben Dearnley}

This is not my refrigerator. It looks like it could be, but I live with a {rather charming} Brit, so ours is large and stainless steel. If you happen to visit Rachel’s lovely blog, BlackEiffel, you will find a sneak peek inside our refrigerator, as well as those of other bloggers . . .

{room for two}

A perfect way to do the dishes side by side . . .

{from Colonial Homes, via Classic Style in the City}

{at the office: work + play}

Have always been fascinated {and often inspired} by the workspaces of others, such as this pretty and remarkably calming and creative space . . .

Have a borderline obsession with stationery and office supplies and have been known to use only my own pens, in any given situation.

Love the Japanese styling of this assortment -- bright and cheerful, with the
perfect combination of work and play . . .

{tropical elegance}

{photography by Mark Seelen for Elle Decoration UK}

Not normally fond of green plants, preferring numerous bouquets of fresh-cut flowers in vases scattered about, but there is something about these oversized splashes of green against fresh white interiors that seems to exude a relaxed easiness and tropical elegance.

{mollies in auckland}

Browsing for hotels again for an upcoming trip in late summer; last time, my searches led me to the sexy Ca Maria Adele in Venice, Italy, which is much closer to where we’re travelling than this small and luxurious place in Auckland, New Zealand . . .

Mollies, a beautiful boutique hotel that's full of charm, combines a mix of new and antiques together to create warmth and all around prettiness. One of its many features includes four premier suites complete with a baby grand in each room, and views of Auckland Harbour.

Of course, the best part of any hotel is an inviting, un-hotel-like feel, making it a true home away from home, and Mollies' wonderful warmth and vibrancy makes it just that.

Here in my part of the world I found this shop window at Atomic Garden... with the prettiest white summer dresses and a charming red bicycle.

Wear a Dress and be Safe

Don’t just take my word for it. Really here is what others have said….

According to Ms Sarah

‘Evidently there was a study done with a man who rode in a variety of attire. Once with full-on road bike garb and helmet. Then with bike clothes and no helmet. Then with a women's wig and a helmet in bike clothes. Then in women's wig, no helmet, and a dress. Apparently the last combination, with dress et all, traffic gave him the widest berth!’

According to Chain, chain, chain

‘This is totally unscientific, but I'm convinced it's true. When the weather is warm and I am dressed, I swear, drivers are nicer to me. Maybe a girl in a skirt on a bike makes them nostalgic for the '50s so they're in a better mood.’

Too Cool

Eco Citizen Window Display

Eco Citizen's logo
Back in October 2007, i was asked to do a window display for this Boutique called Eco Citizen, in San Fransico. This was an amazingly perfect opportunity because i was working on building large layered Art Piece. The theme was "People and Places of the world" and Joslin, the ower of Eco Citizen, gave me a few images of Chagall's "Flying Lovers" as inspiration. Also since the store is Eco-Friendly store i built the whole display out of recycled cardboard. This being my first project that was double sided it took me a little while to figure it out. I hand cut over 120 layers of cardboard to shape the hills. My concept for it was from the out side of the store, the viewer, is on the other side of the world, and as you come into the store you are in the heart of San Fransico. The Monuments start at the Great wall of China, then to Saint Basil's Cathedral, over the hill is Eiffel tower, and lastly on the other side of the display is The Golden Gate Bridge. The final display sizes is H: 6ft W: 9ft and 3ft deep. enjoy.
this is my concept sketch for the display. this is my concept sketch for the display.
