mirrored-vanity

. . . mirrored beside tables & shoe displays, desks, consoles, and even coffee carafes and shoes . . . as with chandeliers and bits of gold, there is something about mirrors that add such elegance, and while vanities have always been ultra-glamorous, when mirrored, things are elevated to another level entirely. . .

{a new week, a favourite bedroom & a few links}

monday-monday-hed
wallpaper-bedroom

. . . you know weekends are good when friday links become late-sunday ones, and sunday links are moved to monday . . . and this weekend was paris vogue and spanish wine, a late saturday night of dreams and plans and moonlight, an always leisurely sunday brunch and drinks on a sun-drenched terrace {first of the season!} . . . and, now monday, monday and it's good to see you again -- how are things?

wherever in the world you may be, hope you had an extravagantly lovely weekend and that your week is off to a perfect start, roséline xo

. . . there is something so wonderfully absorbing about this room -- the luxuriously rich colours and mix of patterns & textures -- perhaps it is the royal blue silk settee and elegant leopard print walls, the dazzling chandelier and bits of gold, the dusky streams of light and beautifully set table for two, or perhaps is is a combination of all these things . . .

. . . there is just something about sundays -- everything seems to slow down to a perfect pace, and whether off to the countryside, catching flights or catching up on beauty sleep, it is nearly impossible not to relax on sundays and it's positively luxurious . . . and while last week was filled with loveliness, working in sun-drenched cafés and evening walks with the dog that ended in new summer wedges and a little black dress, there is a certain hope about sundays that always leaves time for brunch, a good book, the flower markets, handwritten letters, and moments lost in daydreams . . .

hope you're having a wonderful weekend & that it's beautiful where you are, ~roséline xo

{favourite five: chloë sevigny}

. . . chloë sevigny, actress, fashion celebrity and muse to alber elbaz at lanvin, dolce and gabbana, stefano pilatie, and yves saint laurent, set herself apart with her much-celebrated and unrivaled style choices long before the existence of street-style blogs; her often eclectic and always fearless approach to fashion and design also spills over into the rooms of her home, resulting in, perhaps, the most talked about hallway in design blog history . . .

hallway

. . . one of the 50 most influential people in new york fashion, sevigny
has just unveiled a brand new line for opening ceremony, and today, she shares with us:

five favourite prints
1. polka dots
2. leopard
3. paisley
4. houndstooth
5. floral

. . . these are the five prints chloë has loved since she was a teen, and she tells us they are the “prints she has always come back to” -- so much so, that they have also been incorporated into her new line, showing
that a touch of classic pattern splashed over modern design always results in something glamorous . . .

. . . monday, monday, and utterly inspired by this beautiful entryway -- the enchanting framed wallpaper fragment and antique french chest, the warm wood panelled walls and rich chevron floors . . . and not certain if it is because it is february or the approach of valentine's day, but lately, have been dreaming of painting the walls the palest shade of pink . . .

{holiday inspiration: the spirit of giving}

falalalala-hed

. . . ever since their crystal & gold tray was featured here last autumn, many have been smitten with the stunningly lovely things found at rablabs, and since it's the season for giving, few things are lovelier than an utterly beautiful gift that also supports a great cause -- and this year -- rablabs has teamed up with tri-state bird rescue, an organization working to manage the rehabilitation of oiled wildlife in the gulf coast, to offer a new line of coasters inspired by the enchanted dreams of the ocean
. . .

rablabs-oceano-coasters

. . . made from natural rocks found in the heart of brazil, the exquisitely elegant ocean coasters are formed from the unique tides and eddies of mineral-rich water flowing through ancient lava streams, their deep blue-green hues reflecting the intensely saturated color and mystery of the ocean . . .

founded in response to mass wildlife destruction resulting from oil spills, tri state bird rescue & research has been rehabilitating birds since 1976; with this new collaboration with rablabs, 20% of the proceeds from these brazilian agate coasters in the special edition oceano range will be donated to this wonderful cause

. . . and so, if still searching for that last perfect gift . . . here

{p.s.} happy, happy monday! hope your week is off to a beautiful start,

"There is no formula for glamour. It combines shimmer and charisma. It's elusive but you know it when you see it."

- Mary McDonald, from Mary McDonald Interiors

. . . if you have been reading for a while, you will know about a love for placing beautiful things on display at home -- from perfume collections to elegant peeptoes, some things are far too lovely to stow away, and now, with the holidays fast and happily approaching, wardrobes are overflowing with ruffles and sequins and quite adore the idea of displaying shimmery cocktail dresses and alluring evening gowns on a clothing rack {another wonderful example here}, or in a perfectly stylish corner, set up, charmingly, with scarves and hatboxes, like a favourite shop . . .
