{hello & early morning musings}

. . . while it may be infinitely easier to slow things down {just a little} on weekends, during a busy work week, there is the wonderful opportunity to find a perfect balance, and while there is always time for cups of coffee and spring bouquets, after reading this earlier in the week, have come to the realization that, now more than ever, there might be more time set aside for breakfast and the morning paper, for afternoon tea away from the office and more late lunches on terraces, and time spent in the sun, especially with summer soon on its way . . .

. . . while often most drawn to elegant roses at the flower markets, must confess, can never resist the full, ruffly blooms of peonies, especially the pink ones . . . what is your favourite flower?

{hello & a brand new week}

. . . hello again! . . . monday, monday, and still very much in weekend mode, {and perhaps may have eaten far too much chocolate}, and after spending sunday under the spell of sunlight and very good company and {mostly} not working for the first time in forever, perhaps since paris, still feeling a little caught up in daydreams, and so things may be moving a little more slowly today . . .

. . . a wonderful wednesday afternoon and thoughts are drifting, drifting to far off places -- to romantic canals and glass museums, tiny boulangeries and grand archways, a sweet nostalgia for all the places we have been, and all of the places still in our dreams . . .

. . . good morning! hope you had a lovely, lovely weekend; had the wonderful privilege of spending a perfect few days soaking up sunny rays on a terrace in the country, taking breaks only for ice cream at old stone cottages and glasses of chardonnay on wrought iron chairs at quaint cafés by the river . . . and today is so stunningly beautiful and summer-like, abandoning the indoors for a while for a few moments in the sun {such a lovely time of year!}, leaving you with soft and elegant, and always classic, shades of buttercream . . .
