. . . if the glass-front cabinet in the living room were not filled with books, old photographs and love letters tied with ribbon, it would be filled with shoes, shoes, shoes -- only there would not be room for his things as here, and of course, everything would be heels . . .
{p.s.} more shoe storage here

{ribbons, ruffles and . . .}
. . . yesterday was one of those days were it seemed as if inspiration was always just nearly out of grasp, and while coffee & a moment of repose, a late lunch date and a little fresh air seemed to help, when all else fails, {with the exception of a flight to paris}, there are always ribbons, ruffles, and tulle, tulle, tulle . . .
{p.s.} what do you do when you're in search of inspiration?

Tokyo’s Tweed Run General Store
Tweed Run General Store – is a pop-up boutique in Tokyo's Ebisu district.
Tweed Run General Store (part of Wild Life Taylor), is devoted to Tweed styles for the well-dressed gentlemen – perhaps one who is ready to go off on a Tweed Bicycle Run or Tweed Ride?! These photos were taken in December when lots of festivities and parties happened at the shop...
If I could I would certainly shop there.
Please Remember....

“Shosuke Ishizu, one of the patriarchs of Ivy Style in Japan, was on hand to be an unofficial participant in a talk show. A host of gentlemen enjoyed themselves at a party held afterward.”-- via Rei ShitoWhat I love about these photos is the exceptional Tweed Bicycle Style worn by these dapper gents! I'm sure the shop was quite the scene. I hope all is going well and forward!

A Day In The Life of A Designer
Life as an interior designer can be crazy. Here's a snap shot of my day.
First, I started out with a space that needed a little TLC:
Then I took several weeks to brainstorm, space plan, create design boards, shop, select finishes, materials, etc. etc. Today I was able to check in on the progress:
I then ran to several different workshops to check in on the progress of custom furnishings:
First, I started out with a space that needed a little TLC:
(These images are from before my client owned the home. I didn't want you thinking my client is into buffalo and ram heads amongst other clutter...) |
(Custom window seats and new carpet in progress- no low pile shag here! Doesn't this room look so much better without Bullwinkle staring us down?) |
(Custom captain's chair almost ready for the most adorable slipcover you've ever seen.) |
(Reclaimed barn wood table after a little sanding, but before some finishing top coats.) |
(Trestle table base) |
After I gave my thumbs up on the custom pieces, I had to run and pick up a rug pad that just happened to be the last one in-stock, called the slipcover lady and text/called client with updates on the above progress. All this before noon. Whew! Interior design isn't as glamorous as it looks in the magazines, now is it?
I wouldn't want to do anything else. I love it.
Stayed tuned for images of the completed project!

{happy st. patrick's day & spring things}
May you have warm words
on a cold evening,
A full moon on a dark night,
And the road downhill
all the way to your door.
~ irish blessing
. . . a little wish for this stunningly beautiful, warm and sunny day, and whether you're traipsing about in quaint and charming pubs or have plans for a quiet and cozy night, wishing you a happy st. patrick's day, and hope you're having a lovely week so far xo
