Recently I was asked to help out by giving a little exsposre here on RidingPretty to some upcoming Charity Rides. To be honest I am clueless about the whole Charity Ride thing, so I began by looking for an all purpose calendar that listed ALL the various different rides taking place. I found this Calendar - it is primarily for rides in the US.
Last year I had the 2009 EJF Ride - London to Paris banner on my side bar. Check out the 2010 EJF Ride which you can read all about here!
There was a very nice gentlemen (UK) who emailed in regards to the Prostrate Cancer Ride (I've lost his details but at least remembered his Charity Ride). Another nice gentleman (Canada), emailed me about getting sponsored for the The Sears National Kids Cancer Ride.
As you're probably figuring out right along side me, there are LOTS of good causes and rides in 2010.

ATELIER MINYON -HOTTEST JEWELRY DESIGN-FROM ANKARA TO NYC -
Atelier Minyon -Galata Tower design ring^^^^
I love accessories, rings and necklaces-you know-and I met with a new brand last week: Atelier Minyon. They have a strong past but I am new to them:) I never thought this jewelry design house was Turkiye originated at first. They have a store in NYC and they expand in USA. Cool side of their story is they have a Turkish past and their collections have signature pieces from Turkish history and Ottoman Empire.I fell in love with two of their rings: Galata Tower ring and the half-moon shaped ring(I dont know why but this one, romantic-shape that a man can buy to a woman for a lifetime present) that they both are incredibly beautiful.Remember my photoshoot at Galata Tower? You can go here and check out the historical Galata Tower region. Its one of the hip regions around Istanbul for artists and designers I know designer Bahar Korçan lives there and many more designers have fashion houses there.
Back to beautiful Atelier Minyon design jewelry...I want to share more photographs from their collections. The details are hard and great work! I'm so proud of them as a Turkish Jewery House- being such unique and successfull even doing great things in USA...
Duvak Collection is amazing!
Atelier Minyon's some of the best collections IMHO are Pascha (Turkish for Sultan),Duvak (Turkish for Veil) and Truva (Turkish for Troy).Their designs mostly have something Turkish-that's the detail.
You don't need to worry if you live in Turkiye and can't go to NYC, they have many stores in Ankara you can check out their web page go here: Minyon
Topkapı^^^^ by Atelier Minyon
they are popular and significant in US.
skulls are still so trendy even Alexander McQueen(RIP)'s skull scarves are becoming iconic...istanbul fashion addict loves skulls.
...and Erin from Atelier Minyon has sent me the photographs I choose with high quality, many thanks to her for being such great new friend.

{styling inspiration: time-worn nostalgia}
. . . charming styling by japanese design studio, jamo associates, with the same wonderful, time-worn nostalgia as sibella court -- bits and pieces and memories from travels, tiny vases and slants of light, but drawn most of all to the vintage cadbury glass case, perfect for storing and displaying old and favourite books . . .

Ikebana Flowers - Quirky Bicycle Basket
(photos: ridingpretty)
I couldn't help but love this artistic floral arrangement attached to the bicycle basket with it's frayed yellow ribbon. I love the three flowers (bright orange, spikey purple and pale blossom pink) mixed in a Japanese inkebana sort of way. I love when old vintage bicycles are left to patina and rust in the most gorgeous colors, textures and quirky nuances.
It's just that my aesthetics are not always delighted by what is new and shiny. I heart this other old patina bicycle with it's multi colors like a 'Jacob's many colored coat'.
Did you ever get something brand new and then spend hours de-stressing it and making it look like you had it forever? Now this ritual didn't lend itself to EVERYTHING I ever got that was new, just these certain things...
I still laugh - how my little de-stressing ritual use to drive my parents crazy...and now to a certain extent it does the same thing - drives my boyfriend crazy!
