Dreamin' Of A White Christmas
Sometimes the beautiful crimsons and evergreens of traditional Christmas decor just doesn't mix with certain rooms. If this is your scenario, don't fret! The great thing about celebrating Christmas these days, is that you're not expected to always go with the expected. Don't be afraid of decorating in unexpected colors (like Tiffany blue) and funky accessories (like whimsical woodland tchochkes). Here are some of my personal favorite non-traditional holiday rooms:
Flocking a tree is a great trick if you want to use a real evergreen in a more serene or modern space. It makes the dark green much less harsh. |
The blue floral is still festive while being an unexpected twist to your holiday table. |
Simple, elegant, gorgeous. |
I adore this room and it's no wonder-- it's designed by Sarah Richardson. |

And HAPPY HANUKKAH!!! It only took me 3 days into Hanukkah... my bad.

// DPM ARTIST SERIES //
This past August I got asked to be the Stylist (and do model casting, hair, and make-up) for a limited edition Artist Series Collection from Boston-based apparel company DANCE PARTY MASSACRE. The shoot was held at South Boston's Distillery Lofts, an artist loft building and gallery space that hosts some of the best creative talent in the city as well as the location of DPM's headquarters. I also scouted local DJ Matt Rohr for the shoot who has been blowing up the scene like a drama queen!
The Artist Series Collection is centered around the theme of "Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, See No Evil." Contributing artists included Carey Haider, Damion Silver, and AC Bananas. Only 50 shirts were produced for each design, so make sure you grab your favorite one before it is gone forever!

{home inspiration: scandinavian style}
. . . there is so much to love about this workspace -- the modern desk juxtaposed with the grand gilt mirror, the stacks of magazines for inspiration and the candlelight, the luxurious pools of drapery, and of course and most of all, the herringbone floors . . .
{p.s.} more beautiful glimpses, including a cozy settee and crackling fire, and elegantly wrapped gifts strewn about:

. . . have featured the beautiful work of barcelona photographers bela adler & salvador fresneda many times before, and every time, swept away all over again, and since always adore finding party inspiration in weddings, for this year's holiday soirées, it's perfect shades of winter white and pink champagne bows on sky-high peep toes, seafoam satin opera gloves and sheer jackets strewn with roses, and most of all, tiffany's blue bows that fall just below the collarbone . . .

Perfect Pair: Winter Florals + Tweed
One of my favorite trends right now is florals for winter. When the snow covers all forms of plant life and the skies are dark and bleak, it's a nice pick-me-up to wear a pretty floral. Now, these aren't your Easter Sunday type florals. These are dark, moody, Jacobean florals. And when they are mixed with a handsome menswear, like tweed, they become the perfect pair!
