YILBAŞINDAN Bİ AKŞAM ÖNCE YAPTIĞIM TALİHSİZ ALIŞVERİŞ

ş4

THE NIGHT BEFORE NEW YEAR DAY, I HAD A BAD SHOPPING EXPERIENCE (I SHOULD SHARE)

I had an unbelievable busy week during the last days of 2009 cause you know the last days of finance sector is so high and extremely busy.The previous night of New Year Eve I went to the mall to find a perfect black night high heel shoes.I checked out-like 5 shops.I went to Top Shop and found my black high heels.I bought them and went home.I had a bad day with bad news.But only good thing was my new pair.I opened the box to try them.I looked at them closer-and...-THEY WERE BOTH RIGHT FOOT.YEAH!NO LEFT FOOT OF THE PAIR.BOTH ONE SIDE.-I stared at them and stayed there without moving like a couple of minutes.WTF?What was I going to do?I have a busy 31.12.2009 day and I cant really go there after work and change the shoes right?I was f....up!I couldn't go back because it was so late.The shops are already closed an hour ago...

On 31th december morning,like five to nine a.m. I called the head office of Top Shop.I left a message to answering machine.I gave them my phone number.At 09:05 or 09:10 a.m. they phoned me back.I told them how the situation is horrible and I was left in a hard situation.I was at work out of city and have no time and left without the shoes I was going to wear on New year's eve.She said they are going to send me one left pair to my office.they got my address.And then the shop manager called me after hours to say sorry and saying that they were sending a motor-man to my office to give me the left side of the pair.

At like 16:00 pm I recieved the package.I checked it out and it was true left side.I gave the 2nd right side to him.And the problem is solved.I was going to cancel the buy and give the shoes back but my bestfriend told me to keep them they are awesome(perfect choice).So I did not give them back.But the fact is I had a different kind of day at the end of 2009...But they solved the problem.Thanks!

I WILL SHOP FROM TOP SHOP but I might not go to that one again.I just dont like the idea.Too bad it was my favorite one...

{new year's inspiration: champagne}

. . . before the clock strikes midnight tonight, we will have toasted a glass {or two} of champagne, bidding farewell to one year, and welcoming a new . . .

"Come quickly, I am tasting the stars!"
~ dom perignon, at the moment he discovered champagne

{a glamorous guide to champagne:}
champagne, a light sparkling wine made only in the champagne region of northeastern france, is different from all other sparkling wines in the world for three major reasons:
* a wine can only be labeled as champagne if it is made in the champagne region of france
* to be called champagne, it must be made only from the pinot noir, pinot meunier, or chardonnay grapes which grow in that region
* true champagne, as opposed to other sparkling wines, gets its bubbles by undergoing the fermentation process twice: once in barrels and again in bottles

{chilling}
* temperature determines the rate at which bubbles in champagne are released -- a bottle should not be opened at room temperature, as it will quickly froth up and go flat
* chill ideally to 40-45 °F {4.5-7 °C}, the lower temperature for parties and receptions where the room temperature is likely to rise
* chill champagne in a refrigerator for a couple of hours, but try not to leave it longer than a day, as the cork may stick or shrink
* emergency chilling in the coldest part of a freezer for 15 minutes is fine
* a bucket of ice and water (never just ice, as the water is essential for transferring temperatures) is still one of the best and quickest ways to chill a bottle of champagne, but faster still are the gel-filled jackets that are kept in the freezer and slip over the bottle for about six minutes

{opening}
* remove the foil to begin, or simply score around the base of the wire cage, then gently untwist the wire and loosen the bottom of the cage, but do not remove it
* holding the base of the bottle with your other hand, twist both ends slowly in opposite directions, backwards and forwards
* as soon as you feel pressure forcing the cork out, try to push it back in while continuing the twisting operation ever more gently until the cork is released from the bottle with a sigh, not a bang
*
do not tilt the glass and pour gently down the inside, but top up each glass to between two-thirds and three-quarters full, and no more
* do not chill the glasses ahead of time, either by filling them with ice cubes or crushed ice, as it will have a negative effect on the release of the bubbles and the bouquet of the champagne

{glasses}
* a flute or a tulip-shaped glass is ideal, but nearly any vessel other than a coupe will do -- the wide, shallow coupe is the worst possible choice for champagne, as the mousse goes flat far too quickly and the wine's aroma can not be appreciated
* whatever glass shape used, the finer the rim the better
* if you have fine crystal, be sure to use it -- the irregularities in this elegant glass keep the bubbles alive longer

santé! /
cheers!

WHAT'S YOUR NEW YEAR'S TRADITION?

Traditionally, it was thought that one could affect the luck they would have throughout the coming year by what they did or ate on the first day of the year. For that reason it has become common for people to celebrate the first few minutes of a brand new year in the company of family and friends. Parties often last into the middle of the night after the ringing in of a new year. It was once believed the first visitor on New Year's Day would either bring in good luck or bad luck for the rest of the year. It was particularly lucky if that person happened to be a tall dark-haired man. NOW THAT'S LUCKY!!

Traditional New Year foods are also thought to bring good luck. Many cultures believe that anything in the shape of a ring brings good luck because it symbolizes "coming full circle", completing a year's cycle. For that reason the Dutch believe that eating donuts on New Year's day will bring good fortune.
Many parts of the U. S. celebrate the new year by consuming black eyed peas.NO, NOT THEM!!

These legumes are accompanied by either hog jowls or ham. Black eyed peas or other legumes have been considered good luck in many cultures.
The hog and its meat are considered lucky because it symbolizes prosperity. Cabbage is another "good luck" vegetable that is consumed on New Year's day by many. Cabbage leaves are considered a sign of prosperity, representative of paper currency.
In some regions, rice is another lucky food that is eaten on New Year's Day.

Whatever your tradition, I hope you have fun. May it bring luck and prosperity to you this year!
CHEERS TO YOU, 2010!
