{glamping}

After having recently survived my own 'wilderness' adventure, happened upon an article in the LA Times about an emerging trend, "glamping" -- glamorous camping.

The Paws Up, a 37,000-acre resort in Montana, offers services such as a camp butler to build a fire, a maid to turn up your heated down comforter at nightfall and a cook to whip up bison rib-eye for dinner and French toast topped with huckleberries for breakfast. The cost is $595 a night plus an additional $110 per person per day for food. Another popular glamping destination is the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

{serena drum chandelier}

A close friend is looking for new lighting for above her dining table (a house guest hit his head on and broke her former hanging pendant), so I've been on the look-out for something stylish yet homey and a little Bohemian, since that's how I would describe her taste. Of course, I could be way off and she may want something ultra-glam, but I thought the Serena Drum Chandelier matches both our tastes. In fact, I like it so much, I was thinking it for my place . . .

{brian atwood}

Although his shoe collection only began in 2001, Brian Atwood's seriously sexy "fantasy shoes" have a faithful following: with a background in art, architecture and clothing design, the former model and one-time employee of Gianni Versace's shoes are clearly works of art . . .

Was pleasantly surprised by Gwen Steffani's spring collection --sexy knits, body-conscious contours and lacy little black dresses that combined sophisticated glamour with rock & roll chic.

{cheerful florals}

An overcast Tuesday calls for happy blooms, which, when paired with Venetian mirrors and a crystal chandelier, exude all-out glamour. Or, create drama with a floral accent wall, coordinating rug and legless coffee table.

{curling up}

Have never used shag rugs in any room, mainly because have always assumed they'd be difficult to keep tidy, but have always found them to be warm and inviting, and definitely dramatic, and with the approach of winter, could imagine curling up on one in front of the fireplace . . .
