{chanel shoes + shimmery velvet}

. . . there is something about velvet that is so luxuriously alluring, and especially so, on a stunningly elegant and tufted sofa in shades of shimmer and silvery grey. . .

{p.s.} also quite taken with the blush-coloured chanel sandals

{how to: a classic english hand-tied bouquet}

. . . after happening upon the enormous bouquet of pink peonies in erin fetherston's paris apartment in a past issue of domino, have fallen in love with cylindrical vases, which can sometimes be a little difficult to use due to their width, and so was delighted to discover southern living's step-by-step instructions for a classic english hand-tied bouquet, which includes arranging the stems in a spiral and fastening with florist tape beforehand . . .

{images: southern living}

{at home with: mc&co, brooklyn}

. . . sun-drenched in skylights and glossy floorboards, blossoming branches and antique linen-covered cushions: a glimpse into a bright and wonderfully creative live-work space of corinne gilbert and dan mccarthy of mc&co, a shop in williamsburg, brooklyn, new york, that specializes in the work of local artisans and craftspeople . . .

***

. . . a few favourites from the shop, which is filled with lovely things that are all handmade in brooklyn:

{spring things: bicycles}

. . . must confess am not much of a bicycle girl {petrified of the traffic and would most likely try to ride in heels}, but after coming across this pretty city bicycle in the most spectacular shade of smokey violet, suddenly dreaming of careening down side-streets with reckless abandon . . .

As you all pretty Much know Models are my favorite subject matter to draw.
So basically to be featured on the front page models.com is like a dream come true!
Thank you Chris from One Management & Models.com!
Click Here to Check out the Interview.

Today's inspiration Friday has a kind of dark vibe to it,
but listen to the band "Explosions in the Sky" while you are looking at the images,
and you should get the right vibe.
Last weeks image set was kind of the ending to this set.
Think of this weeks images as The First half of a book,
Last Weeks as the last half of a book.

I've been lovely some of those old paintings.
The Images are from Lina scheynius, Brassai, Hans Memling, Simone Martini, Steven Meisel, and Joseph Mallord William.

Matthew Modine, Bicycle, Fashion Charity Show and Other Fine Tweed Gents

Matthew Modine carried a bicycle up the runway, (only appropriate) - His charity is Bicycle For A Day. The event was the recent "Dressed to Kilt" Charity Fashion Show.

Matthew looks awfully much like a Tweed Ride Tweeder to me, then again the charity event was part of the New York Tartan Week. Tartan a close cousin to Tweed.

Speaking of Dapper Gents this is as good a time as any to share this with you...

The Gents you see above are two of the organizers for the recent Kansas City Tweed Ride.
More on the Kansas City Tweed Ride when I do my April Tweed Rides - a recap of all of the April Tweed Rides....coming soon, as in when the month of April is over. April looks to be another fine month for Tweed Rides. If you haven't already done so please do check The Tweed Report for upcoming Tweed Rides. Maybe there is one coming to your town?

Now for a little summer fashion inspiration for a "non Tweed" - Tweed Ride!
