{décor inspiration: wallpapered cabinets}
. . . isn't this the loveliest idea? . . . glass-front cupboards strewn with cole & son's classic and utterly delightful hummingbirds, and instantly, everyday items such as smokey quartz glassware and jadeite cake stands become little works of art . . .
{p.s.} also: a little romance

Floating Back In Time - Inspiration Friday
A Midsummer Nights Dream, Lina Scheynius, Barbara Cole
Morning my Friends!
Happy Inspiration Friday!! :)
Wow i've had way too many late nights this week!
But it's been good learning so much.
I'm so excited for you to see what i've been working on! :)
Most of the images in the Inspiration Friday set are from one of my favorite movies, A Midsummer Nights Dream (1935).
The movie is magical so i thought i would throw a set together based on it.
I hope you're having a very inspirational day!
P.S. What are your top 5 collections of this season?
eMag: Lonny March/April 2011
Another great issue of Lonny! Check out my favorite home from this issue:
Note to self: Design a home with black floors and window frames, loads of high gloss white trim and finish with glass door knobs. A coordinating black dog would be a plus (maybe this should be my home, since I already have the puppy).
And don't miss the article on Miss Kelly Wearstler!
Still can't get enough of her studio. Sigh.... so fabulous.

{how to: braided brass hex nut bracelet}
. . . have always adored bracelets -- gold, silver, sequined, leather, or extravagantly adorned with diamonds or swarovski crystals, but never could imagine that a few things from the hardware store -- a little twine and a few brass nuts -- could be transformed into such a stunningly elegant and impossibly chic fashion accessory . . .
{you will need:}
3 strands of twine cut into one yard pieces, 18 small brass hex nuts
{steps:}
1. gather the 3 strands of twine and tie a knot at the top, leaving about two inches of slack
2. start braiding
3. at about an inch of the way down, you’ll begin braiding in the nuts
4. before you braid the far left strand over the middle strand, thread on a nut, push it against the base of the braid, and crossover; depending on the thickness of the twine, you can wrap tape around the bottom tips to prevent the twine from fraying
5. keep your thumb at the base of the braid, holding the nut in its place
6. before you braid the far right strand over the middle, thread on another nut, push it against the base of the braid and crossover
7. again, hold your thumb tightly against the base of the braid, keeping the nuts in place
4. thread another nut onto the far left piece and crossover
9. repeat the steps, by threading the rest of the nuts to the outer pieces of twine before they are crossed over
10 & 11. thread, cross, thread, cross
12. finish the bracelet with another inch of braided twine and a knot
the bracelet should wrap around your wrist at least two or three times; trim it to your liking
mix with silver and crystal for a rock 'n refined look and you're set xo

House Crush: Sloan Mauran's House
Leave it to those Canadian designers to design yet another stunning home. They have the most impeccable taste. Check out the residence of Toronto interior designer, Sloan Mauran.
I adore the brass hardware. A perfect example of how to mix silver and gold.
LOVE the mix of formality and family. See, you CAN have chic rooms that are kid friendly.
There's a starburst mirror over the bed. Do I really have to say anything else?

Osaka Japan Inaugural Tweed Run - 2011
Thrilling photos of Osaka Japan's inaugural Tweed Run! What more can I say...
There were close to 400 photos to look through from this day -- the ones I am sharing with you are my favorites. kkuwajimam, the photographers Kazuki Watanabe and Kaoru Kuwajima have done a fine job. Well, I did my best (in editing) to help tell the story of surely what was a most spectacular Tweed Run! Honestly, I am so impressed with the Tweed bicycle fashion styles seen here -- and worn so well by everyone.
If you notice throughout the photos (and are able to spot it), there is a small patch or badge. Apparently all the Tweed bicycle riders were given one. I thought it was the nicest touch. That very same badge graphic was used on the invite as well. If are you curious enough go to the Tweed Ride Report, just scroll down to find the invite for the Osaka Tweed Run -- then you'll know what I'm pointing out here. I just think it's such a good idea! I would LOVE to have that badge to add to my Tweed Ride spokes card collection...
