. . . skinny belts and elegant high-waisted pencil skirts, toggle coats and long leather opera gloves -- graeme fidler and michael herz for bally's pre-fall 2011 collection is pure lady-like perfection . . .
. . . the first week of the new year has come and gone and it was filled with new year's things -- organizing and exercising and rationalizing; and two days and a paper shredder later, things in the office are now perfectly organized into files with beautifully hand-lettered labels and all neatly sorted into a brand new cabinet that is certain to be gilded soon enough . . . and now, as the last of the late-afternoon light fades, there bouquets of roses scattered all about, and it's the weekend . . .
hope you're having a beautiful time, wherever you may be, ~ roséline xo
For the record, I am a girl who likes to wear men's clothing. Why? Well for one thing, I can actually breathe in men's clothing, as opposed to the way that so many women's clothing pieces fit so tightly. Another thing is that I like wearing over-sized clothes - I can hide what I don't want the world to see, and show off my better bits!
Hence, I've become more and more interested in following men's designers like Henrik Vibskov, SIBLING, and of course, Rick Owens. One of my favorite shops in London, LN-CC, just started carrying the SS11 collection from Rick Owens for both men and women. Rick Owens' women's items are actually solid stuff - and I think maybe even a tad bit looser fitting than the men's items! Below are some of my favorite items at the shop from Mr. Owens:

I Love Lamp. Well, chandelier, that is. Jonathan Adler's Meurice fixture is a modernist's dream. So sleek, so chic, so perfect. I want one in every color.
And of course I'd pair the nickel versions with Jonathan's Meurice Butler Table in nickel.
. . . with floral patterns and magnolia wreaths in thoughts this week, and last evening's trip to the flower markets for six luxurious bouquets of roses, could not resist this lovely tutorial for a pretty peony bouquet wrapped in ribbons for a cloudy winter's day . . .
{you will need:}5 yards of ribbon, flower clippers, string & peonies (10 stems, 5 in two colors)
{steps:} 1. condition flowers: re-cut stems, and place in a bucket of cold water overnight; keep away from food, fruit & drafts 2. remove most of the leaves, keeping only the ones that are towards the top of the stem, near the flower 3. take a few peonies and place in your hand (ex. left hand if you are right-handed) 4. as you add groups of flowers (about 3 stems each), turn the bouquet to the left 5. you will start to see the stems spiral
6. tie securely with string 7. wrap the ribbons over the string and stems to complete the bouquet
Some people have really consistent taste and when you have fabulous taste like Diane von Furstenberg, who can complain? I'm always fascinated by how fashion and design interact with each other, so it was extra fun when I came across these suites DVF designed for the Claridge Hotel in London. Her formula of tailored silhouettes, bold prints and pops of color work in both genres. Tres chic!

My favorite thing about this bathroom? There's no towel bars! A sleek polished nickel and glass end table plays the part of towel butler.
Fashion director Emmanuelle Alt is now the new editor of Vogue Paris. She's well known for her work of editorials and her personal style(check out streetstyle blogs camping in Paris and London and NYC and Milan). The president of Condé Nast France: Xavier Romatet confirmed that Emmanuelle Alt will take the role of editor-in-chief from February 1st.For the past ten years, Alt has worked under the current editor-in-chief, Carine Roitfeld, as the magazine's fashion director.Isn't it rare to see a fashion director as editor? That's a real success factor.
what about Carine Roitfeld? She's the icon.
Under Roitfeld's influence of editorial leadership, Vogue Paris had huge record levels of sold copies and advertising. Carine Roitfeld had a work of editing the title and also she had worked&styled many of the fashion shoots of Vogue Paris with her significant effect inside the magazine.
