. . . the first week of the new year has come and gone and it was filled with new year's things -- organizing and exercising and rationalizing; and two days and a paper shredder later, things in the office are now perfectly organized into files with beautifully hand-lettered labels and all neatly sorted into a brand new cabinet that is certain to be gilded soon enough . . . and now, as the last of the late-afternoon light fades, there bouquets of roses scattered all about, and it's the weekend . . .
hope you're having a beautiful time, wherever you may be,

. . . have been known to wear red lipstick nearly everywhere -- on early morning walks with the dog, at the shops and in the rain, and sometimes even to the gym, but very rarely, if ever, decorate with or wear the colour red . . . and yet, somehow, and only next to gold {an all-time favourite}, shades of scarlet, crimson and vermilion, always elegant and wonderfully festive in the form of short and stylish party dresses, are perfectly and utterly irresistable at this time of year . . .

. . . perhaps it's the seemingly sudden drop in temperatures or the sudden gusts of november wind on early morning walks, but lately have been very much in the holiday spirit, and dreaming of languid dinner parties with lovely table settings and have fallen completely for the notion of monogrammed napkins and pastel-coloured roses . . .
{p.s.} more monograms & roses

. . . when you combine the work of a fashion photographer and an interiors photographer, there is magic in the air, and an intermingling of intricately carved headboards and patent leather peeptoes, cranberry-coloured satin and sexy tousled hair, warm wool blankets and beaded gowns with velvet sashes, and all enveloped in warm and woodsy late-autumn tones of red wine and ripe cranberries, just in time for the holidays . . .
