. . . a few weeks ago, glamorous reader bonnie sent along a link to a few photographs she had taken of cherry blossoms in washington, and while gazing at all the beautiful blossoms, also discovered this utterly lovely salted caramel series, with its wonderfully hazy, dreamy, soft-flowing light . . .

. . . even in mid-february, the city of lights was still {and always will be} beautiful, as it is anytime of year, but the photographs of paris in the springtime, posted at this time, a little over a year ago, were filled with such enchantment, thoughts to return have already been swirling about, not much more than four weeks later, to breath in all the blossoms filling the air . . . and isn't it amazing, the lure of any place, after having seen it in the light petal-tinted hue of le printemps? . . . and so, here, a few magical photographs of the exquisiteness of springtime of another lovely place, just outside of munich . . .

in-dreams-awake-hed

. . . one of those weeks that whirled by with a flourish, and in the midst of plans and appointments, there were little moments of inspiration -- thoughtful comments & lovely tweets and perhaps one of the most beautiful letters ever received {from a wonderful reader in australia}, and have always known that those who stop by here {& here} for a visit each day are some of the loveliest people ever, but this week , especially so, and it has been said that love makes the world go round, so let us send as much as we can to those who need it most . . .

à la prochaine & looking forward to seeing you again,

{on the market: stockholm, sweden}

. . . there has been a warm and woodsy victorian in australia, a bright and modern apartment in sweden, and even a look at the differences between magazine and real estate photography for a townhouse in new york, but until now, there has never been such a perfect intermingling of the two . . . swedish real estate firm, fantastic frank, photographs homes for their listings in much the same way as interior design magazines; working with photographers who do not usually shoot houses, but work in fashion, art and architecture, they have developed a beautiful new photographic style that will forever change the way one thinks of real estate listings: for here, a light-filled home in östermalm, an upscale borough in stockholm, sweden, glittering with chandeliers and positively strewn with roses . . .

. . . airplanes and altitudes aside, it is proving a little more difficult than anticipated to properly get back into things after a week away, especially while feeling a little under the weather from a sudden late-winter cold, but after a few deadlines, projects and social obligations, {including dinner reservations with family from out-of-town}, perhaps a little repose and an inordinate amount of beauty sleep, and things will be as they should . . . for tomorrow, a very exciting announcement, and later in the week, a few glimpses of the past week in paris . . .

{home again & hello}

hello-header
bonjour-paris-apt

. . . hello, hello! . . . just in, after a week in paris, home again late yesterday, and today feels like a monday, complete with a very fashionably late start, and after traipsing about nearly completely {& perhaps a little unbelievably} off-line, including facebook, twitter, twitpic, instagram, etc. {somewhat of an accomplishment over workaholic tendencies}, it's back to business with over 1,000 things unread in google reader and nearly 2,000 email messages . . . and with travel cases filled with party dresses, lacy skirts and pretty shoes barely unpacked . . . for now, a few moments to catch up and to catch my breath . . .

looking forward to catching up with you soon & hope you're having a perfectly wonderful week so far,
xo

{travel inspiration: paris by lomo}

in-dreams-hed
paris-lomo6

. . . and while on the topic of paris, {as we so often are}, still and always a fascination with travel photographs, especially the photographs of favourite places, and these hauntingly beautiful shots of la ville-lumière capture the city of light in a way that beckons for one's return at once, as fewer things are more inspiring than to fall once again into these familiar places, along the seine and palais royale, and if it is not possible to steal away at the moment, then even a glimpse, in photographs, are inspiration enough until the next time . . .
