. . . and throughout the week, here & there, a few lovely site updates:
- a brand new news page
- to help keep things a little more organized, a new advertising email address: advertising {at} thisisglamorous {dot} com
- updates to the inspiration board
- tumblr & pinterest
- in case you missed, for easy navigation, use the weekly features in the right sidebar, for instance, design & décor, inspiration boards, two lovely things, favourite five, colour inspiration {& for romantics, all royal wedding posts can be found by clicking the crest just above the weekly features}

. . . for this morning, two lovely things -- stacks upon stacks of hardcover books and an enormously luxurious bouquet of bright spring blossoms -- [not to mention the floor-to-ceiling windows, ribbons of light and perfect view of the gardens] . . .
{p.s.} the floating coffee table is albrizzi

. . . hello, hello! . . . just in, after a week in paris, home again late yesterday, and today feels like a monday, complete with a very fashionably late start, and after traipsing about nearly completely {& perhaps a little unbelievably} off-line, including facebook, twitter, twitpic, instagram, etc. {somewhat of an accomplishment over workaholic tendencies}, it's back to business with over 1,000 things unread in google reader and nearly 2,000 email messages . . . and with travel cases filled with party dresses, lacy skirts and pretty shoes barely unpacked . . . for now, a few moments to catch up and to catch my breath . . .
looking forward to catching up with you soon & hope you're having a perfectly wonderful week so far,
xo

. . . at this moment, there is a bouquet of roses on the desk the very shade of dusky lilac as this mesmerisingly beautiful and utterly romantic carved and gilded chair . . .{images: photography by sylvie becquet, scanned by this is glamorous from a passion for interiors by carolyn roehm}

. . . hello again! . . . after a luxuriously relaxing weekend, it's a beautiful new week, and you may have remembered, a million years ago, shortly before the holidays, there was a lovely give-away for a glittering and impossibly elegant crystal necklace, and in the flurry of fairy lights and falling snow, hadn't a chance to find out who the winner is until now . . . and so, utterly delighted to announce that the winner is . . . rachel in rome, italy . . .
*** congratulations, rachel! ***
a warm thank you to everyone who entered & hope your week is off to a perfect start, xo

. . . would think a better place to work would be a clear and tidy desk, but maximalist tendencies are hopelessly drawn to the gilt and wonderfully ornate mirror and glamorous chandelier, cut crystal candy dishes and stacks upon stacks of favourite books and imagine this to be the most perfect place for inspiration, a little work, and most certainly, whiling away an early spring evening . . .
