{spring things: organization}

. . . there is a vintage sterling silver serviette holder on my desk {below}, that is used for favourite photographs, letters, invitations, and gold foil-lined envelopes; however with a change in season and a brand new month, aside from the overwhelming desire to throw open every french door and window, there are also thoughts of redoing, perhaps repainting, but most of all, reorganizing, and at this moment {besides the closets} it is the office, currently overflowing with letters, cards, bills, receipts and recent boarding passes . . . and the serviette holder, however lovely, can only hold so much, so perhaps a silver vintage toast rack {beautiful and practical} may be just the thing . . .

. . . and if you ever find yourself roaming about the antique markerts early one saturday morning, in paris, or otherwise, a latte in hand a boyfriend in tow, you'll most likely find a wonderful array. . . and of course, for those quiet moments on weekday mornings, there is always a vast assortment online, from etsy, {here}, and ebay, {here} . . .

. . . if you have been reading for a while, you will know about a certain and enduring love for chandeliers, and whether in a quaint café or a cozy british pub, an ultra modern living room or a château in the french countryside, things always seem to look a little better under the romantic glow of a chandelier, and this beautiful antique is pure and simple elegance . . .

. . . at this moment, there is a bouquet of roses on the desk the very shade of dusky lilac as this mesmerisingly beautiful and utterly romantic carved and gilded chair . . .

{pure romance: a tiny victorian cottage}

. . . nearly impossible not to be utterly captivated by this perfectly tiny and devastatingly romantic victorian cottage in the catskills, all draped in netting and dusky white and overflowing with ruffly bed linens and silver tea services, antique mirrors and chandeliers, and limoges china patterned in tiny rosebuds -- an enchanting summery retreat for long and luxurious afternoons spent dreaming, dreaming to the soft sounds of a sunlit stream . . .
