Wheels & Heels London Cycle Fashion Show

wheelsandheels

wheelsandheels2

It’s in London at 6pm on 14th Feb.

Wish I could be there. Which bring me to how I discovered this event.

I used the key search words Cycle Fashion Show and voila!

The original scoop is from cyclingnews

{finding beauty everyday}

I meant to have this post completed for first thing this morning, but sometimes life gets in the way of blogging . . . {my apologies, Melissa}.

If you haven't had a chance yet, take a moment to stop by The Inspired Room for Inspiration Week: Finding Beauty Everyday to read about my notebook obessesion {click here to read the post}.

And if you're searching for your own notebook, Papa Stour has a beautiful range of handmade books by Laura West, a classically trained, award-winning bookbinder who specialises in traditional and contemporary hand-sewn books.

{p.s. if you're feeling romantic . . .}

. . . and you want your sweetheart all to yourself, there's also a recently refurbished, charming croft called Callakille, up in the North West Highlands of Scotland which is available to rent. Located 8 miles north of Applecross in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland, it comes with incredible, uninterrupted views of Skye, Raasay and Rona.

{dVider + Jill Malek}

{in wonderland}

Was following a convoluted web of stray links, when suddenly, like Alice, I tumbled into a {candy-coated} wonderland . . .

Magazines from other countries are a little like travelling, their pages filled the secrets of far-off places.

{other places to visit:}

If you're new here or to blogger,
click here for the wrap-up to the tips for new bloggers series by the ever-sunny Felicity--there's a lot of great information, including how to adjust image size by coding, configuring links, and many other technical and otherwise discussions.

If you're looking for a little January inspiration,
click here {and especially between February 4-8}.

Order your Valentine's Day cards
here and do something nice for your special someone and the environment. {And click here if you're crafty.}

If you missed Valentino's stunning farewell to couture,
click here for the highlights.

The next time you're having oysters and champagne, and feeling pensive,
click here.

And discovered
this beautiful blog {via here}.

{a family affair}

{left: "Sky Light" by Paris Gerrard; right: "White Roses" by Jill Barton}

I am admittedly a little behind on my correspondence: last week, I received a very lovely e-mail from Paris and Jill, two talented artists from Salt Lake City, Utah. What makes these two painters special is that they are mother and daughter, each with similar, yet unique artistic styles. Their bodies of work consist of a broad and interesting range of approaches, from still life, to landscape, impressionistic, to Chinoiserie-inspired strokes, to daughter Paris' editorial selections.

Regardless if you prefer still life or landscape, it's clear that talent runs in the family.

Bicycle Chic NYC

A Great NYC Bicycle Photo. This is perfection. At The Satorialist you will find a lot of inspiring fashion photos. Of course your first choice would be to look at the bicycle category.

{happy February}

Now that France's President Nicholas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni have wed in a private civil ceremony {conducted by the Mayor of the 8th district of Paris} this weekend, the super-sexy Italian-born brunette heiress can add First Lady to her already impressive résumé of supermodel and talented muscian.

Was on
the official Carla Bruni site in hopes of finding wedding photos, but instead found these charming, charming images of her in her studio, shot by Bharat Sikka. My favourite shot being of her desk, simply because have always thought one can tell so much about a person by her workspace . . .

Hectic weekend, and in between a house full of guests and champagne and oysters, stole a few moments to leave a few thank you's:

Thanks to Claudia at
Ferret & Hound {interiors} for including The English Countryside and Bon Soir, Valentino and Farewell as top posts for January.

Special thanks to
Pomegrenate and Patchouli for this lovely award.

Thanks to Melissa at
The Inspired Room for inviting me to be a part of her ever-popular Inspiration Week series, which begins with an interview with Interior Designer and author, Alexandra Stoddard.

Thanks for the tag:

What Makes Me Tick?
Vie Chaotique

Was also delighted to discover the stunningly beautiful {
new blog links layout} at Creature Comforts that was unveiled this weekend -- this new feature is beautifully laid out and fantastic!

Bicycle, Chic, Fashion

bike chic

Photo credit: Brian Wilson

I was putting in random successions of keywords; chic, fashion, bicycle just to see what the search engines would bring up and that’s how I first discovered Amsterdam Bicycles – and along with it, the many links to it. So here you have it a very popular pictorial observation, 82 photos in all (all snapped within in 73 minutes) of European bicycle attire. So pretty on her bicycle…
