. . . had been planning to debut this fun new feature earlier in the week, but it's the holidays and things are already a beautiful whirlwind of festivities, and so, today, wonderfully excited to announce a brand new series: in my closet, a glimpse of some of the things that am currently wearing & adore, beginning with this ultra-stylish and perfectly preppy tartan hooded coat . . .

. . . always a certain fondness for all things classic & a little preppy, and especially for tartan, and while have always adored lauren moffat's vintage-chic style, absolutely adore the fall 2010 collection, with its cashmere cardigans and silk charmeuse tops, but especially the tartan pieces, and most of all, this tartan coat, perfect with jeans and tall leather boots {and opera gloves if it's chilly} for traipsing about on early december afternoons, or belted and paired with socks and heels for an evening at a new gallery exhibition, or lattes for two beneath the chandeliers of a quaint café . . . {photography by p for this is glamorous, styling by roséline for this is glamorous, and a very special thank you to my sister xo}

. . . in all the busy-ness of the past few weeks and ever-enchanting pre-holiday excitement, had barely realized a new month had quietly arrived and if truth be told, must confess am often the tiniest bit more fond of september and october and all the blustery autumn promises they bring -- the golden morning light and magic of turning leaves, days in light trenches and evenings that still linger -- november, however, is often imagined with thoughts of overcast skies and chilly rains, and once the last of the leaves has fallen, cloudy days that end too soon . . . and yet, november has its own promises: nights wrapped in mohair and wool tartan blankets, pretty cashmere gloves with delicate crystal buttons, warm, crackling fires and the intoxicating romance of candlelight on evenings in, and most of all, the beautiful anticipation of the coming holiday season . . .
{p.s.} also new today: red wine & ripe cranberry

. . . monday comes in shades of green & gold -- westminster and huntington, chardonnay and woodside moss -- and even while there are overcast skies, and soon, the last of the fallen leaves, there is the warmth of these elegant and regal hues, and along with them, a certain anticipation of things to come, or perhaps the anticipation could be attributed to the start of a new week and so many beautiful things to look forward to in the days and weeks ahead . . .

. . . and in the midst of all the busy-ness this week, a few moments to leaf through wallpaper samples and for lunch dates, for long, leisurely conversations and perfect stolen kisses . . . and for the next two days, the enchanting sound of falling leaves and silvery clouds, elegant marble floors and long cashmere scarves, and most of all, knowing for certain that le coup de foudre/love at first sight truly does exist . . .
wherever in the world you may be or whatever lovely things you may have planned, hope you're having an impossibly beautiful weekend,

. . . most often drawn to pale & pretty neutrals, both at home and in the closet -- nude, blush and champagne and, for good measure, always black . . . but goldenrod is a hue have yet to perfect, but in the form of an insanely stylish and belted jacket and paired with an indescribably lovely shade of green and a gorgeously patterned scarf, it may just be the very colour of autumn . . .
