. . . monday comes in shades of green & gold -- westminster and huntington, chardonnay and woodside moss -- and even while there are overcast skies, and soon, the last of the fallen leaves, there is the warmth of these elegant and regal hues, and along with them, a certain anticipation of things to come, or perhaps the anticipation could be attributed to the start of a new week and so many beautiful things to look forward to in the days and weeks ahead . . .

{colour inspiration: gold}

. . . always in love with all things gold, and after covering a cocktail table in gold-leaf in early spring, even more drawn to its elegant shimmer, especially as gilded accents on walls and along ceilings, and on luxuriously beautiful carved sofas . . .

{lovely lucite}

Absentmindedly flipping through past issues of domino awhile ago and came across a favourite vignette {above} in the first ever issue, and was reminded of how beautiful lucite can look when paired with the perfect pieces and accessories . . .

{a lucite console is the perfect complement to a large antique French mirror and weathered floorboards}

{lucite office furniture in a february 2005 versace ad campaign featuring madonna and shot by mario testino; aside: also included, the eames soft pad aluminum group chair}

{lucite bases make these large mirrored coffee and end tables appear as if they are floating . . .}

{a celebration of sunny days}

{Natalia Vodianova photographed by Mario Testino}

If you're feeling the full affects of Spring fever and are ready to commit to more than
a few vibrant accessories, drench your walls {and disposition} in sunshine:

"Yellow is a happy, bright, and uplifting colour, a celebration of sunny days. It is associated with the intellectual side of the mind, and the expression of thoughts. It therefore aids the powers of discernment and discrimination, memory and clear thinking, decision making and good judgment. It also helps good organization, assimilation of new ideas, and the ability to see different points of view. It builds self-confidence and encourages an optimistic attitude."
