. . . absurdly in love with spring's vibrant hues -- lips in shades of coral & cerise and belted dresses in riotous purple, frolicsome jumpsuits in shimmery turquoise and flirtatious dresses in peach and long skirts paired with tangerine -- such a wildly welcome change from winter's grey days and suddenly, the air feels electric . . .

{colour inspiration: gold}

. . . always in love with all things gold, and after covering a cocktail table in gold-leaf in early spring, even more drawn to its elegant shimmer, especially as gilded accents on walls and along ceilings, and on luxuriously beautiful carved sofas . . .

{runway inspiration: karl lagerfeld + milan}

fendi, milan

. . . the runways of milan were wispy pink, ivory and ecru, in linen and tulle and ruffles and frills, all mixed with softly frayed edges, loosely piled hair and high, high heels wrapped in bows . . .

{p.s.}
* more wispy loveliness at the side project

* aren't the perspex clutches stunning?

{inspiration: a walk on the wild side}

Lately have been considering adventurous animal prints such as leopard and cheetah as accents, such as throw cushions and especially when mixed with crisp whites and feminine florals . . .

. . . or on the floor, perfectly paired with white trim and seagrass walls

. . . perhaps even a few fun Fall fashion accessories:
1 - fendi marshmallow leopard-print shoulder bag; 2 - topshop leopard tie belt; 3 - very privé peep-toe platforms; 4 - christian louboutin leopard loubiday clutch; 5 -
miss clichy 140 boots; 6 - helena rubinstein lash queen feline blacks mascara; 7 - toss designs leopard flask by art effect

{happy weekend + lovely letters}

{beautiful sample of Karl Lagerfeld's photographic work for Chanel}

Late Thursday morning, I received a perfectly delightful e-mail from Glamorous reader Joy, who was fortunate enough to happen upon a Karl Lagerfeld photoshoot while out enjoying the Spring sunshine the previous day:

"This is glamorous! Love, love, love your blog and read it daily!

While running around town yesterday, I stumbled upon a Karl Lagerfeld shoot for Fendi. Karl himself was taking many of the photos. It was a perfect 60 degrees and all the onlookers sat quietly taking the experience in. Surely, it was a nice way to kill an hour. It's amazing what you see day to day on the streets of New York.

Thought you would enjoy these photos!"

You may or may not know that the world-famous couturier, {currently for Fendi, Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld}, is also famous for his photography as well as his designs and has published more than 20 books of photography. Joy managed to snap some wonderful candid shots of the designer {including behind the lens!}, and so thoughtfully sent them along . . .

{spring ahead, fall back}

Now that it's officially Fall with the arrival of brisk, blustery days and our clocks falling back to give us an extra hour in our busy schedules, it's time to dress the part, which means layers, and I'm crazy about this season's layering socks over tights (above) and pairing them with stacked-heeled pumps or Mary Janes. Some designers have taken the look one step farther, by incorporating the layered look into the design of their Fall footwear collections for complete style and practicality that's sure to make you the cutest girl playing in the fallen leaves.
