Absentmindedly flipping through past issues of domino awhile ago and came across a favourite vignette {above} in the first ever issue, and was reminded of how beautiful lucite can look when paired with the perfect pieces and accessories . . .

{a little glitz}

Adding a little glitz at home can be as simple as a beautiful piece of art, mixed with comptemporary classics and antique finds . . .

Above, a luxurious panel of gold in the dining room, paired with bright accents and an all-white backdrop, the look is elegantly light and wonderfully sophisticated.

Shimmering gold tiles installed along the outside of a vintage claw-foot bathtub create an impossibly luxurious atmosphere . . .

Not normally fond of green plants, preferring numerous bouquets of fresh-cut flowers in vases scattered about, but there is something about these oversized splashes of green against fresh white interiors that seems to exude a relaxed easiness and tropical elegance.

Completely mad for Chris Miller's incredibly beautiful Roger Sprunger for Dunbar rosewood and chrome desk.

Found a similar one at Treadway/Toomey Galleries, and while ultra-sleek can be a good thing, prefer the set of side drawers {like Chris'} for additional storage . . .

Flanking a framed French poster, these beautiful shelves are made of Black Butt wood originally from an army barracks in Queensland.

Have never used shag rugs in any room, mainly because have always assumed they'd be difficult to keep tidy, but have always found them to be warm and inviting, and definitely dramatic, and with the approach of winter, could imagine curling up on one in front of the fireplace . . .
