. . . hello! . . . things have been rather sporadic around here this week, with valentine's day on monday, finishing projects, last-minute preparations, and an ever-overflowing stream of emails, but most excitingly, cases to pack and a flight to catch, and now, a few beautiful days in paris . . .

uncertain when there next will be a moment to say hello, and so, for now, a fond farewell and à la prochaine,

{home inspiration: a paris apartment}

. . . oftentimes, on evening walks, love to stop by the bookstore for a few glossy magazines, always in search of inspiration, but has been far too long since there was a space that overwhelmed with loveliness like this parisian apartment -- the glimpses of perfectly ornate balconies and streams of soft, gauzy light, the yards upon yards of shimmery taupe drapery and beautifully time-worn chevron floors, and best of all, in paris . . .

{late summer, early fall}

. . . intricately panelled walls, juliet balconies and elegant fireplaces, floods of dusky and romantic light and stunning chevron floors -- if one could describe the beautiful and all too fleeting moments between late summer and early fall, perhaps it would as this . . .

. . . after falling for the wispy fabrics and pleated chiffon in erin fetherston's recent autumn/winter collection, was reminded of the enormously beautiful bouquet of pink peonies on the sun-drenched juliet balcony of her paris apartment, and how bright blossoms never fail to make everything feel like spring . . .

. . . completely swept away by this stunningly beautiful bedroom in fashion designer elie saab's paris apartment -- the mirrored screens and four-post bed, the satin-trimmed pillows, and most of all, the spectacularly over-sized blossoming branches that may be just the thing for getting through the winter . . .

. . . the soft colours of the recent runway shows -- feathery pink, whispy violet, muted coral and ecru -- and this week's calming greens and champagne hues bring dreams of smokey, palest autumn blue, the kind the appears in hazy, early-autumn light . . .

A breezy band of gauzy green against a romantic balcony, or a lovely desk filled with seaglass and overlooking the ocean . . . Easily drawn to the calming sounds of crashing waves this morning after a busy, lovely weekend . . .
