Hey hey hey Friends, how are you?
So i finally finished up my first ever Sculpture!
I thought it was only fitting that i sculpted a garment of my favorite designer Alexander McQueen's Fall 2009 collection.
My hands are covered in blisters, but all in all, i really like how it turned out.
I learned so much making it.
My only regret is that I didn't build a bigger version of it, because I really wanted to smooth out places of her face but it just was too small to get the hard to reach places.
So whatcha think?
I definitely want to do more sculptures. I had alot fun.

Other than that, i had an amazing weekend hanging out with my friends Eisley & Christie Dupree band, and the whole gang;)
I haven't seen them for about 6 months, so it was great hanging out with them. :)
Check out both their albums, they are amazing!

P.s. Flare magazine was kind enough to interview me, if you want to read it go to Flare.com

Go Shorty...

I'm going to take a day off from interior design in lieu of my birthday.  I couldn't leave my readers hanging, so here are some pretty images to inspire you. (Is it too self-indulgent to have a birthday post on your own blog?  Oh well. My blog. My birthday.)  Happy April 11th!!!!

I had to add Marilyn. Such a cute photo of her, no?

Marchesa Fall 2011

Fashion Artist Danny Roberts Experiment 3d photo and Digital Painting of Marchasea Fall 2011 Lace dress from New York Fashion Week

Morning!
So i'm really excited to show you a little project i've been experimenting with. I know it's really really really different than my usual work. But I'm someone who likes to constantly experiment. I really don't like doing the same technique or medium twice. So i thought it would be interesting to try my hand at 3d Modeling + Digital Painting. So this was one of my first experiments.

It's from Marchasea Fall 2011. Which if you haven't seen it check it out here.
I've been a fan of Marchesa Collections, and the second i saw this dress I got the idea of a girl laying down with the dress flared out on an ornate rug under her, and i really like how it turned out. It's so trippy don't you think? I hope you like it.

Ray Bans: Aviator vs Wayfarer

There are some gorgeous sunglasses out there,  but I always gravitate towards Ray Bans.  Now that the sun is staying up longer (YAY for Daylight Savings) I'm feeling the need for a new pair of shades. But I can't decide, should I go for Aviators or Wayfarers?

Let's take a look at the Aviators first. Bausch & Lomb developed the aviator style in the 1930's, were popularized in WWII when General Douglas MacArthur sported a pair and were all the rage starting in the 1960's up until now.  Look who's a fan of this classic style:

Jennifer Anniston

Johnny Depp. Rarr....

Don't know who she is, but she is gor-ge-ous!

And the ever fab Mrs. Beckham
(how great do gold aviators look with a man's gold watch?)

Wayfarers, on the other hand, were developed by Bausch & Lomb in 1952 as one of the first styles of non-metal sunglasses.  The Wayfarers were "a mid-century classic to rival Eames' chair and Cadillac's tail fins," according to design critic Stephen Bayley. This "new wave" style was popular throughout the 50's and 60's, lost some momentum in the 70's, but the hit their pinnacle of acclaim in the 80's and are currently experiencing a resurgence.

So which would you choose? Aviators or Wayfarers?

Eye Candy: Men's Gold Watch

Have I told you how much I adore men's gold watches?

Well, I do.

A Lil' Leopard

Can you believe it's March? Hallelujah!! I'm so over Winter.  Over the next few weeks the weather can be finicky, so what better than to throw a leopard swing coat over that Spring dress you've been dying to wear?

Eye Candy: Morning Beauty

 A gorgeous little photo shoot.

This photo shoot reminds me of "Water for Elephants" an a-MAY-zing book, I wish I had more time to finish.   Even though that "Twilight" boy is the main character, I can not wait until the movie is released this Spring!

Wideleg Jeans

I heart wideleg jeans.  They elevate any outfit to another level of sophistication.  They are a plain white T's best friend for the weekends, but can be dressed up with a blouse and blazer for the work place.  In fact, I wore a dark rinse pair from Tory Burch to a job interview a few weeks ago.  Not saying my interviewer was so impressed by my fashion selection he gave me the job, but I am one of their employees now...

**Disclaimer: I do understand wearing jeans to a job interview is a faux-pas in most cases.  I highly suggest when in doubt, a pencil skirt or tailored slack are you best bet.  I don't want anyone to loose a job because they wore jeans to the interview.  Just sayin'.**
