COUNTRY ACCENTS WITH CALMING BLUE

Relaxed country is so soothing and inviting, especially
when it's done in whites and creams.
Now, add in a soft, calming

BLUE
and you can almost feel
your blood pressure drop.
You would have a hard time pulling me out of any of these spaces!
I would be hard pressed to have to choose my favorite space.
Each one has it's own personality, but are all equally gorgeous.
Now that spring is almost here,
it won't be long before we can start incorporating
pretty blue flowers into any all white or cream spaces.
This pop of blue takes calming to a new level.
It kind of makes you want to curl up and take a nap,
I don't think Fido would mind if you joined him....

I have to say this room is my winner....
that is, if I was forced to choose, of course!

DOESN'T EVERY CLOSET NEED A CHANDELIER?

How pretty are these closets? I know you all have to have chandeliers, ottomans and over-sized mirrors propped against unused wall space in your closets, don't you???

I could only wish my closet was this organized. No matter how hard I try to keep things folded properly nothing stays that way. Oh sure, I've replaced all my hangers to match, but inevitably the dry cleaner hangers make their way back in. They get twisted and tangled especially when you're in a hurry getting dressed. So my wish for 2010 is to get my closet to look this way. Hmmm, I just need to find the right chandelier, oh and ottoman too.

GOING GREEN THIS CHRISTMAS

There are so many beautiful ways to decorate for the holidays using natural elements. Evergreens such as pines, firs, boxwood, hollies, and junipers are so traditional. You can mix them for an interesting, textural look all over your home. Use them inside and outside to give a festive look without spending a lot of money. Why not add fruit, pine cones, twigs or shells to add color and interest? Bright colorful ribbons give the greens a great finishing touch.

Now that we only have a week before the big day, I'm going to start spreading my greens all around the house. I try to hold off as long as possible since the heat in the house tends to dry them out. I hope to stretch it out until New Years day, but by then it's pretty much seen it's day. The fruits look great in glass jars, canisters and over sized vases. You can float cranberries in water with candles too for pretty colorful look. Just remember to change the water often. For special events only lasting a few hours, freeze the cranberries in molds for a festive center piece. Don't discount milk cartons and plastic recycle-able containers as your molds...bonus... they're free! I hope you have fun going green this holiday in your own special way!
