Morning!
How are you doing today?

I'm still waking up...
Went to see my friend Sean play in a new band he is in called "Foster the People".
They are incredible! Really great and fun music.
Actually, their ep just came out today on itunes. You can get it here.
The Image today is from Volume 2 of my Character Sketch Book.
It was a pen drawing i did of Gemma Ward, but once i outlined it, it seemed like it needed something else so i added acrylic, and then color pencil.
I'm not sure what it is about this one, but it's one of my favorites in the series.

My Own Hitchcock

Hello, my friends,
How are you all doing?
I thought i would post this old Volume 1 Character Sketchbook Drawing.
As you can see, i made a little Alfred Hitchcock like appearance in this one...
hahaha Well, it's begining to look a lot like Christmas!
and i'm really getting excited. :)
Trying to plan out 2010...

Attack of the Crazy Models

Hey Friends, how is the weekend going for you?
Anything exciting?
My weekend has been super laided back and chill (which is the way i like it!)
Watched one of my favorite movies, Hook!
It's been so long! i love that movie! "Rufio Rufio Ruuuufiiiiiioooo!"

The drawing today is Number 172 out Volume 2 of my Character Sketchbook.

it's one of my all time favorite projects.
And if you do know about it...
I have a question for you.
How many of you would be interested in getting the Character Sketchbook if i find a publisher?
I thought it would be cool project to publish because i think it shows anyone can learn how to draw,
it just takes hard work and practice. ;)

Oh, on another note, i had a really funny dream last night involving a supermodel and an adventure on a resort island! haah i might have to post it ;) haha

Character Sketchbook 174

Hey guys~! How are you all doing today?
It's been a great Saturday.
Went to the beach with my brother and my friends Ryan and Alice and filmed some video.
Now, we are just sitting eating pizza(my favorite) and watching Arrested Development(my favorite)!

i did it a year ago. It's kinda crazy; layered it with different papers.

The 144th Drawing in the SKetchbook

Well my friends, it's only the first day of the week and i'm yawning pretty hard right now.
I'm going into work tomorrow,
but after that, i am going to try to do a few new drawings for you all this week.
The drawing i'm posting tonight is of model Lily Cole.
I drew these two black and whites of her in the character sketchbook
that i really like how they turned out.
i think i will post it's counter part soon!

Looking Back

Well, my friends, today was a good day of getting organized.
I cleaned my Studio! You should see it; it's all shiny and clean.
I thought of a little concept for a short film, if i ever get time, i want to make it.
The drawing tonight is out of Volume 2 of my Character Sketchbook.
For some reason, i really like how it turned out
It's kinda simple but the lines in it just seem right. :)

All the people who have a bad case of the Mondays, raise your hand...
For those who can't see me, i'm raising my hand... hahah
Well, at least it's down and out of the way.
i think this week is going to be a long, brutal one,
which, on a good note, means i should have some good dreams this week.
If i have any good dreams, i will type them up and post it for yawl.

The image i drew was of Lily Cole Back Stage at, I believe, a Dior show, but I can't remember.
i like the raw rush of the scene.

Hello Friends, sorry for the little absence.
Went to a wedding up in the San Luis Obispo area.
One of my friends since i was in kindergarten got married last night.
It was really a great wedding,
but now i'm back and super tired/sick, but going to try to get some work done.

The Character Sketchbook 159

Wow! Thank you everyone for your amazing comments; really means alot.
It definitely was a long day for me, so that was perfect encouragement throughout the day.
I thought i would post one of my favorite pages from my Character Sketchbook Series.
For some reason this was one of the hardest pictures for me to draw.
But i think that is what makes it my favorite!
It's fun how that works, huh?
I have a big day tomorrow, shipping out all these print orders,
so don't worry for you that ordered, they're all going out tomorrow! :)
i have to say, the new prints look really cool. i was so excited when i saw them.

My Bags Are Packed

Well i thought this drawing would be a fitting one to post since i drew it the last time i was on a plane.
So My Bags Are Packed and i'm going to be on one tomorrow to Hawaii.
i'm a little distracted with my check list....
probably going to forget something (always do)
but it's going to be great!

Tuesday Made me Tired..

Wow, it is only Tuesday night and it's not even late and i feel really tired... anyone feeling the same?
I've been dreaming more lately, so i think that might be contributing.
Been traveling to distant lands and worlds the moment i close my eyes...

So, i plan on posting a new song my friend Christie and i did.
Hope to mix and post it tomorrow. i hope you like it. She has an insanely amazing voice! :)

My friend, Jason, hand wrote all the text in the book, and it looks amazing.

The Character Sketchbook 168 + 169

Hey there Friends,
How's your Tuesday going?
Mine got off to a late start...
i got lost in a dream,
and the dream would not let me leave till i had finished it.
So yesterday i got a request to post another drawing from my Character Sketch Book.
I know it's been a while so i thought i would~! :)
and since my dream reminded me of my good friend Sophie Ward,
i decided to post some drawing of her out of the book.

Hip hip hooray my friends!
Well i've been working on my Character Sketch Book for:

1 year 11 months and 17 days!

It looks like today might be the day i finish up the Second Volume of the book!
So with that said you are probably wondering what this has to do with the images i posted...
well i normally don't do any concept sketches in my character sketchbook cause they are all blind contour cheating a little.
But i decided for the last one of Volume 2 i wanted to have it go out with a bang!
hahahah So the idea is, i wanted to do a drawing with all the people who are drawn in the book,
kind of like a closing curtain call in a play where every one comes out and bows.
Since it's never good to know the ending of a book or movie...
i'm not going to post the finished drawing or show the arrangement...
but i didn't want to leave you in the dark,
so here are some of the really rough working drawings.
You'll just have to use your imagination on the arrangement!

P.s. For thoses who are wondering... Yes that is me wearing lederhosen. hahaha

Today i'm going in to work...
which means i'm dressed and up earlier than the norm.

I really feel bad i haven't been able to get back to you yet.
i've been swamped, but don't worry, i plan on getting back to each and every one of you as soon as i can.

Also about the Desktop Wallpapers... i should have a bundle of Wallpapers for you...
i've been working on drawing ornate things, so i did a drawing last night of lisa in lace.
i'm going to post it later hopefully...

well i'm sorry to post from my book 3 days in a row but i'm really excited about how it turned out.
how are you guys doing? i'm so so so busy this week. kinda crazy. going to help coach at a wrestling camp tomorrow.
should be fun. i think i'm going to draw for the next few hours and then go to bed. but i hope yawl are having a great day.

Numbers 195 and 196

Well it's sunday, and i see the finish line on Voume two. I finished 195 yeserday and actually just finished 197 but haven't scanned it yet. So only 3 drawings left in the book woooooo-hooooo. really excited about this book. i hope you like it. :)

Number 193

Last night I drew number 193 in my book. i'm closing in on the finish line. Only a few more drawing left for Volume Two. Oh, i was talking with my friend Miss Sophie Ward, and she was saying that there is a chance that Paper Castle Press might publish my character sketch book, which would be incredible! Like a dream come true, so i'll keep you posted. Hope you're having a great Saturday!

My Favorite Pass Time.

I wanted to show you some more from Volume 2 of my Lily and Gemma book/ Character Sketch Book (which by the way still needs a name for it.) But this is seriously my favorite pastime. Whenever i take a day off i like to draw in it. Not sure why, just really fun. But i'm almost done with Volume 2. It would be a dream to publish Volume 1 and 2.... Maybe some day... but here are a few pages out of it.

well Hilde, asked to see this drawing cause it's in the backround of the picture with Little Miette.
so here it is. It;s from my "Lily and Gemma Book" thus the page number. oh for thoses who are confused....
i know i've called this book a couple of names,"The Lily and Gemma Book" and also "The Character Sketchbook" , but there's a reason for the two names. The original name of the book was "The Lily and Gemma Book" because when i started the book it i only drew Lily Cole and Gemma ward in it in order to cut down on variables and monitor my drawing progress and evolution. but as the book went on and as my drawings started improving i ended up adding a few others lovely individuals like Sophie Ward, and Heather Marks to name a few. but now i'm not sure what the new name of the book should be... my first thought was character Sketchbook, but i'm definately not sold on the name... any sugestions i would love some.
