Long Day... & Castel Glasses

Hey Friends. how was your day?
Well, i'm exhausted.
Been painting for the last 9 and a half hours straight without a break.
i can't wait to show you all it.

The picture today is one i did for Sophie Ward originally for Paper Castle Press.
Sophie had me add some Castles on the glasses. :)

The Lady Sophie Ophelia Frida Claire Ward

Hello my friends,
Well, dropped off the magical Miss Ward in LA last night.
I have to say, i don't remember the last time i had so much fun as the last few days with Sophie.
She truly is amazing.
Do get familiar with her writing; i think she is going to be one of the greatest writers of our day.
Also, if you could get the word out on her blog.
We also met in regards to Paper Castle Press and the direction of the Company.
I can say, there are some exciting things coming up. :)

So, what do you all think of how Sophie's portrait is coming?
The oils are starting to dry and i can't wait to lay some more layers down on it.
I really really really hope i can capture her lovely demeanor and cheery outlook.
I shall keep you all up to date on it.

Cat Eyes

The drawing up there is a early concept sketch i did for Sophie Ward's kids book.
She had the idea of basing the cat character of this boy i coach named Joey.
This was me trying to figure out how to do that.... hahah
Don't worry, Joey makes an appearance a few pages into the book... :)

The Time Machine.

So i'm not much for multitasking....
but here i am working on twenty things at once.
Working on this big illustration for a online fashion community in Australia right now.
i'll show you when i'm done.

My brain feels really scattered today,
so do forgive me if i jump topic a few times. haha.
Well, the pictures i posted above are the unfinished version of one of my drawings from the children's book i'm doing with Sophie Ward.
I can't wait to have it done. Really excited about it.

Oh, made some improvements on the site,
just on the About me and the Blogger portraits so far.
i wrote a little bit about how it came about.

Well, morning morning friends!
I'm up and wide awake excited for today.
I'm hoping that this will be the day i finish Volume 2 of my Sketchbook!
The drawing above is the second to last page in the book. Did it yesterday.
Hope you guys like it.
I have a question for you, and i would really love to hear your thoughts...
There has been talk about publishing this book.
It would be 1 book, both volumes, so 200 drawings and about 220 pages.
I would love to know how many of you would be interested in getting it?

Also to answer a few questions...
Alot of you have been asking if i have any art for sale.
Right now, i don't, but i'm working on getting an online store set up,
so hopefully soon. :)
It warms my heart that so many people would want to support me in that way.
One thing that would help me alot, if you have the time, is if you can click here,
and vote on the prints you would be interested in, that would help alot.

The last thing... on the video process.... haha...
well, i'm used to using Final Cut Pro and i got a new computer, so i'm using imovie...
and welll... i'll just say imovie can't really do much, so i'm going to get final cut
and i promise i'll have the video of the drawing process soon!

Number 193

Last night I drew number 193 in my book. i'm closing in on the finish line. Only a few more drawing left for Volume Two. Oh, i was talking with my friend Miss Sophie Ward, and she was saying that there is a chance that Paper Castle Press might publish my character sketch book, which would be incredible! Like a dream come true, so i'll keep you posted. Hope you're having a great Saturday!

My Long Lost Picture...

Well... i start this painting/illustration like 4-5 months ago. but than i started the book and haven't been able to work on it.
she is my long lost picture. the girl in the pictures name is Josette, she is from this book series i've been dying to write. it will consist of about eight books. but yea i thought i would introduce you all to my little josette. Oh yea i designed the dress based of old persian patterns and architecture.

First Sketch

well today was kinda a wierd day and spent it really tired. i've been working alot.
but today i did my first sketch for this up coming project i'm doing. it is super sloppy, and i was just goofing around hope you like it. for more info on the siren project i reposted the write on it from Paper Castle Press web site

Roberts illustrations have provided the foundation of inspiration for this haunting love story about a man driven across the ocean for the hand of a deadly and yet illustrious woman.
