{two lovely things: all that glitters}

two lovely things
mirrored-tray
gold-tiles

. . . always an affinity for glittery things -- sequins in the morning, chandeliers and gilded chairs, and so, easily fell for this pretty tray {a similar one sits on the counter and is filled with bouquets of spring roses}, and most of all, the thought of metallic gold for the powder room -- how could mornings ever be more elegant than sunrise and gold tiles?

built in 1845 for the duke of isly, the astonishingly romantic chateau is located in perigord vert, a beautiful and tranquil part of dordogne, southwest france, and is filled arched windows and juliet balconies, glittering chandeliers and canopy beds, luxurious
marble baths and italian bedlinens, while outdoors, twelve acres of perfectly manicured grounds, swimming pool, tennis court and orchards . . . and already there are thoughts of sparkling holiday parties by the beautifully ornate fireplaces on chilly nights or an enchanting weekend away . . .

{in the bedroom: only sweet dreams}

perfect-elegance-hed23
painted-ceiling

. . . positively mesmerized by the beauty of this grand & impossibly romantic room, a part of a beautiful apartment available for rent{!} in provence, on the ground floor of an hôtel particulier, {an urban "private house" of a grand sort, or a very grand town house}, dating from the renaissance that was once home to members of the family of the king of france . . . already astonishing with a pier fireplace and solid oak herringbone floors, but it’s the bedroom, complete with an extravagantly handpainted and vaulted ceiling, a glimmering and glamorous chandelier, and most of all, a gilded coronet bed drape {or crown canopy} in shades of the softest lilac that inspires a place where there can only be sweet dreams . . .

{p.s.}
* another stunning coronet: crisp linens & scalloped edges

{in the bedroom: summer whites}

. . . the sultry days of summer have arrived and it has been hot, hot, hot and positively living in pretty summer dresses and upswept hair, and in the evenings, the duvet with its lovely lacy trim becoming far too heavy and we're dreaming, dreaming, of draping everything in romantic mosquito netting and saturating the bermuda teal walls in enchanting shades of crisp summer white . . .

{p.s.} don't you just adore the crochet bedcover?
