{la vie comme un conte: life as a tale}

. . . fridays, have the best intentions for a last post before the weekend, but in the flurry of a million e-mails, last-minute telephone calls, lunch dates and unfinished projects, all is lost in the last moments of the week and before long, it's charming french restaurants and travel plans, crème brûlée and handwritten letters, happy sighs and sunday night . . .

{pretty on the inside}

Perfume bottles, shimmery powders, necklaces, silk throw cushions and shoes are overtaking the place, resulting in thoughts of Spring cleaning, and since my favourite tailored linen pants have disappeared, it may be time to explore the fashion abyss in the farthest corners of the closet . . .



. . . although am rather inspired {and a little tempted} to hide everything behind yards and yards of soft and beautifully patterned curtains . . .

{festive style + the winner is . . .}

The season's trends are a whirlwind of embellishments, including stacks of rings and layers of necklaces, extravagant fabrics and glittering piles of shimmering sequins, and, in keeping with the holiday spirit, will most likely being wearing something spectacular in my hair for New Year's for certain, and perhaps even Christmas eve, or both . . .

Incidentally, a tiara would also be fitting for Chelsea, who, in the middle of all the excitement and some serious competition, has been chosen, {with a little help from a random number generator}, winner and will be the most stylish girl around town with her brand new Hayden-Harnett handbag . . .

{almost like floating}

Have been trying desparately to find time to play with photography again, and every time I want to see the world through a lens, I find myself drawn to this Vogue IT shoot by Paolo Roversi.

A simple blank canvas . . . blissful, soft and ethereal lighting, and a quiet serenity that is almost like floating . . .

have been waiting for a current photographer to replicate the classic, black and white, devastatingly glamorous work of henry clarke, and was delighted to come across paolo roversi, who does it brilliantly -- the dresses, the setting, the sultry play of light and shadows . . . it's all really quite romantic, with a wonderfully modern edge
