. . . have been lamenting just the other day that it has been
forever since there was an interior that overwhelmed with a sheer elegance intermingled with a certain romance, and then, all of a sudden . . . french doors and chevron floors, marble fireplaces and graceful archways, paneled walls and 19th century mouldings, all enchantingly flooded in light, and best of all, in paris . . .

. . . representing the intersection of classic baroque style and innovative modern design, the louis ghost chair is both beautiful and functional, and has become an iconic piece in the canon of philippe starck for its instantly recognizable louis xvi chair shape pared down to an essential form and boldly reinterpreted in lucite; the louis ghost chair is sturdy and durable while displaying a delicate, ethereal appearance, its versatility making it suitable for both indoors and out, residential and commercial, and a fixture in the most elegantly designed spaces . . .

{pink stripes & yellow pom poms}

. . . if you have been reading for some time, you may remember a wonderful give-away from last year, for complete interior design services to one reader in new york city by lavender & plum, a boutique design agency known for sophisticated and eclectic style with a hint of whimsicality . . .

the winner was the lovely melisa of the lil bee, who was expecting at the time, and so chose to have a new nursery designed -- and now, a year and a new arrival later, a peek at how it all turned out . . .
