". . . chests draped in cloth served as dressing tables until early in the eighteenth century, when tables de toilette, known also as poudreuses, made their debut" . . . dressing tables seem to be a recurring theme lately, especially mirrored ones {also here}, but elegantly draped and ruffled is also lovely {and really quite wonderfully romantic}, especially when surrounded by floor-to-ceiling carrera, alongside grand archways, and beneath a nineteenth-century silvered french chandelier . . . also quite adore the pink rhinestone-tufted vanity stool in luxurious dusky pink fabric from lelièvre, paris, and spectacularly trimmed in rhinestones . . .
{p.s.} the rhinestone trim is from m&j trimmings, nyc & the art déco lamps are from a paris flea market

. . . oysters and lobster bisque, pink champagne and chocolate molten lava cakes, french candles and chantilly lace, and most of all, warm laughter and cozy conversations that last long into the night . . . and whether you adore valentine's day or are just in love with love, wishing you a wildly romantic weekend filled with magic . . .
hope it's beautiful where you are,

. . . shall always adore katie lee's ultra-chic four-story west village townhouse, famously decorated by nate berkus a million years ago, in 2006; first seen in domino magazine and still an all-time favourite, the 4000 sq ft home, which includes 3/4 bedrooms, 4 baths, 4 fireplaces, an elevator, a landscaped garden, matchbooked marble detailing, and antiqued gold-leafing, is now on the market, and it is always interesting to compare how the real estate listing shots, often taken wide angles, differ from the rich, more detailed shots published in magazines; and so, a glimpse . . .

. . . saturday morning was a luxuriously late start, a sunny morning drive and a favourite café utterly filled with charm and round marble tables and crimson umbrellas, walkways strewn with brightly fallen leaves and a breathtaking view overlooking the still-green parks and cityscape beyond, while inside, glittering antique chandeliers, flaky butter tarts and frothy lattes; and best of all, there's still time for the sound of leaves beneath tall leather boots and for perfect kisses under pale october skies . . .
hope you're in the midst of a stunningly lovely weekend & that it's beautiful where you are,
