{a charming mix of things - three}

a charming mix of things
. . . oftentimes things come together perfectly and there is endless inspiration at every turn, but sometimes, and especially during exceptionally busy weeks, inspiration is elusive . . . happily, one thing that fell beautifully into place was this collection of fluttering thoughts -- and so, on this early friday morning: a charming mix of things . . .

. . . cozy reading corners

. . . raindrops on the ocean

. . . smokey eyes & windswept hair

. . . seaside inspiration

. . . pretty underthings {from agent provacateur}

. . . skylights

. . . white blouses & summer sandals

. . . perfectly ornate

. . . eiffel tower pillow cover {via ephemerette}

. . . topknots & lacy summer dresses

. . . fires in the springtime {via ephemerette}

. . . pretty packaging

. . . elegantly hidden

. . . gracefully gilded {via aubrey road}

. . . chandeliers in entryways

. . . palest pink seashells

. . . palest pink lace {via definitely golden}

. . . grand ballrooms

. . . masquerade balls

. . . settes & staircases

. . . sea & sky

. . . secret doorways

. . . always & forever, butterflies

. . . and these french words --
il n'est jamais trop tard pour être ce que tu veux être: it is never too late to be what you want to be . . .

{inspiration: grand ceilngs}

. . . one of my very favourite things is an evening out in a stunning dress and a perfect pair of impossibly high heels and to look up, up to discover a grand chandelier, or a luxuriously ornate ceiling, or perhaps, on a very good night, both . . .

{beautiful details: hervé pierre, new york}

. . . always adore the details best -- a perfume collection or the way it is displayed, luxurious bouquets artfully arranged, the books in cases and the photographs and artwork in frames -- these and other personal and creative flourishes tell the most about a place, and few have more glamour than hervé pierre, whose new york apartment is positively overflowing with beautiful details, such as a curtain tieback made from a balmain glove {top}, and a wonderfully intricate and incredibly handmade frame created of paper and cardboard that took two years to complete . . .

{the most wonderful time}

hello! + happy monday . . . not certain where november has gone, but tomorrow is december and things are already beginning to feel festive around here -- a new week, a new month and so many wonderful things to look forward to, but soon and most of all, amidst the swirling snow and prettily wrapped packages, time to spend with those we love most . . .

wishing you a beautiful start to the week,
xo

{at home with: alexander wang}

Flipping through a past issue of domino and happily came across Alexander Wang's NYC apartment {above, styled by Lili Diallo} and remembered completely falling for its perfect mix of rock + refined -- a Terry Richardson photo hangs above the bed and beside a fantastically pretty flea market dresser about which Wang has said, "People are so self- conscious and afraid of things that might make them look cheesy. The coolest people are the ones who aren't afraid to look like dorks."

above: amazing leather handbag {definitely on the fall shopping list} and shoes with see-through heels from the fall 2009 collection + a sexy, body-conscious dress from the resort 2010 collection
