. . . at turns bright and sun-lit, and at others, dark and blustery, as the days fade to winter, particularly drawn to the moody and atmospheric work of australian stylist glen proebstel, enveloped in the beautiful play of golden light and dusky shadow, a perfect reflection of these, the last autumn days . . .

. . . and as we reluctantly bid summer the fondest of farewells, farewell, also, to magical mornings like these, until the warm summer sun shines again . . .

{croissants on a friday morning}

. . . has only been a little while since our last breakfast in paris, but any time away from paris is far too long and while we may not be having our croissants and café au lait in the jardin du luxembourg this beautiful summer morning, we will be packing our weekend carryalls for a little time away . . .

{p.s.} don' you just adore the rhinestone detail against the wicker?

{inspiration: summer solstice}

. . . deep into summer and it's as many wonderfully languorous hours en plein air as possible, an afternoon spent dreaming away or lost in the pages of a beautiful book and breathing the scent of a million blossoms, or idyllically swinging from the boughs of a perfect tree, or best of all, lilting conversations over an early evening dinner under the cover of the most charming canopy in a shade lost somewhere between lilac and lavender . . .

{colour inspiration: august sunrise + bits of gold}

. . . hello! monday, monday and things are off to beautiful start -- early morning at the gym, plans & projects and a brand new week, and couldn't dream of a lovelier way to begin than with shades of pink -- tea rose and cherry blossom, bermuda and august sunrise -- all intermingled with summer wicker and lace, and always elegant with bits of gold . . .

{one late october afternoon}

. . . and after all the shades of mustard, wheat, and honey from recent photographs of our weekends away, was reminded again how warm yellow can be this time of year, especially when intermingled with deep wood tones and gold . . .

{scrapbook: a weekend in the country}

{a few photographs of our weekends away}

. . . while evenings in the city may be spent in heels and cocktail dresses, weekends away in the country are laid-back in a quilted Barbour and a pair of wellies, and after the apple orchards and pumpkin patches, the golden fields of wheat and rustling yellow leaves, a perfect afternoon for an autumn picnic for two . . .

{p.s.} and to p, thank you for making every moment feel like a dream, and for taking the most beautiful photographs

{a new week + the winner is . . .}

Hope you had a beautiful and relaxing weekend. Finally catching up on e-mail {somewhat}, and have discovered more fun and exciting give-aways, so much so, that there will be two this week: one later today, and another on Wednesday . . .

And while we're on the topic, completely delighted to announce that the winner of Mindy Wilson's lovely Spring print is . . . Blair!

** Congratulations, Blair! **
